The Lower School provides the foundation upon which pupils’ academic and personal development is built. During these early years, strong habits are established: of scholarship, organisation, and conduct. Pupils are introduced to a broad and ambitious curriculum, delivered with clarity and high expectation, ensuring that knowledge is securely developed across all subjects. Alongside this, careful attention is given to pastoral support. Form tutors and Heads of Year work closely with pupils to support their transition into secondary school, helping them to grow in confidence, independence and resilience. Opportunities beyond the classroom are actively encouraged, with pupils taking part in a wide range of co-curricular activities that contribute to a well-rounded school experience.
The Lower School is therefore characterised by high standards, strong support, and a clear sense of purpose—providing pupils with the platform from which they can thrive as they move through the school.
