BWS has an extremely proud history of superb examination results and full subject breakdowns can be found in the supporting pdf documents found below. Additionally, wider contextual information can be accessed on the Compare Schools and Colleges Performance national database.
It was wonderful to celebrate another fantastic set of GCSE results with our students and staff earlier today.
Our headline results are essentially unchanged from previous years, with 65% of grades awarded at 9–7, while there has been a small increase in the percentage of the very highest grades, with 43% of grades awarded at 8–9. Among the many individual successes, we are particularly proud of the 32 boys who achieved grades 9–7 in every subject. This is a truly exceptional achievement and represents a fantastic breadth of understanding, alongside an enormous amount of hard work and effort.
These results will open doors to a wide range of exciting post-16 opportunities and while the great majority of our students will be staying with us for sixth form, for those students who are leaving BWS to pursue their ambitions elsewhere, we wish them the very best of luck and every success in their next steps. As we head towards the end of a long and busy day of enrolment, we are also excited to welcome a great many new students through our gates in September. We look forward to getting to know them and working with them as they begin their journey at BWS.
I would like to thank all our parents for their tireless efforts and encouragement, including those all-important reminders about revision! I would also like to thank our staff for their dedication, hard work and care throughout the students' time with us.
Finally, and most importantly, I would like to congratulate our students themselves. Their commitment, determination and effort have produced a terrific performance, and they should be immensely proud of what they have achieved. Well done to all our students on a fantastic set of results!

Throughout their time at school all students are repeatedly asked what they intend to do next. What subjects will you choose? What will you study? Where will you go? What do you want to become? For much of their school lives, the answers are necessarily provisional. Results day is one of those rare moments when those possibilities suddenly become very real.
For the students receiving their A Level results at BWS today, an extraordinary number of doors are now wide open. This has been an exceptional year with 84% of all grades were awarded at A*–B, while 59% were at A* or A - a fantastic increase of ten percentage points on last year. The average grade achieved across the school was an A and the provisional progress figures are higher than ever demonstrating the considerable gains made by students during their Sixth Form studies with us.
There are some outstanding individual achievements within those figures. Ten students achieved A* grades in every subject they took, while 65 students completed their A Levels with exclusively A* and A grades. They deserve enormous congratulations.
But one of the great pleasures of results morning is that success comes in many different forms. An A* which confirms a place on a highly competitive course is a wonderful achievement; so too is any grade which secures an apprenticeship, makes a particular university possible, or simply represents the very best for any individual. The significance of a result lies ultimately in what it allows a young person to do next. Today therefore belongs to the Year 13 cohort of 2026. With some University places still to be confirmed through UCAS we can already report over 85% of students have received their first-choice placement. The boys and girls leave us for universities, apprenticeships, employment, travel and countless other destinations, and I hope they do so with tremendous pride in what they have accomplished at BWS and excitement about what lies ahead.
Of course, their achievements also reflect an enormous collective effort. Families and friends have encouraged them along the way, while the teachers and support staff at BWS have given an extraordinary amount of their time, expertise and care to helping these young people succeed. I am immensely grateful to my colleagues for everything they have done for this cohort.
My warmest congratulations to every student receiving their results today. Enjoy the moment - and, more importantly, enjoy whatever it has made possible.
